No mid-grade inventory. Ever.
Our studio stocks and sources contract-grade leathers from Italian and French tanneries, performance velvets with documented Wyzenbeek cycles, and linens washed for dimensional stability. If a mill cannot provide batch consistency and technical sheets, it does not enter our library.
Clients receive material memos: tannage, thickness, expected patina behavior, cleaning protocol, and how the textile performs under Bay Area UV and humidity.
- Full-grain and aniline leathers selected for seat vs. vertical applications
- FR assemblies documented where code requires; natural latex and wool options where appropriate
- Alcantara and automotive Nappa programs for cabin work
- Contrast stitch and welt libraries matched to hardware and wood tones
Three tiers. One standard: full disclosure.
Tier I
Unpigmented or lightly finished full-grain. Maximum character and patina. For collectors and low-abrasion seating with controlled light.
Tier II
Protected aniline and semi-aniline with documented wear layers. Family residences, executive offices, and daily-use lounges.
Tier III
Commercial-rated hides with finish systems engineered for hospitality traffic. Matched to stain resistance and cleaning protocols.
Architectural weaves & tactile layers
Velvet & mohair. Crush recovery, directional pile, and rub ratings verified for high-use applications. Color is evaluated under 2700K and 4000K to avoid surprises in your space.
Linen & wool. Pre-washed lots for stability; basket and plain weaves for modern silhouettes. Natural fibres specified with realistic care expectations.
Trim & edge. Piping, gimps, and metal nail schedules are prototyped on scrap before touching the final cover.
Comfort cores. HR foams, natural latex, horsehair, and cotton wrap where historically appropriate. Density maps match sit depth and frame spring type.
- Wyzenbeek / Martindale documentation on request
- Lightfastness (Blue Wool scale) for sun-exposed placements
- Moisture barrier options for coastal fog and pet use
Responsible sourcing
We prioritize tanneries with water stewardship and traceability programs, low-VOC adhesives in our assembly, and waste segregation for metal and wood recycling. LEED-aware practices are standard in our studio operations.
